(February 2, 2012, York, PA) Bill Greenawalt, Jr. has recently been appointed as the chairperson of the South Central Pennsylvania Citizens Review Panel (SC-CRP), which was established to meet the federal requirements of the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA). Citizen Review Panels are charged with reviewing current child welfare practices in Pennsylvania and offering innovative solutions to the Department of Public Welfare and Legislators to make changes that will ultimately help protect children.
The Citizens Review Panel, which covers 13 counties in South Central Pennsylvania, has a mission to advance collaborative policies, determine best practices, create public awareness and engagement to ensure that Pennsylvania children are protected from abuse and neglect. The SC-CRP Panel is comprised of citizens and professionals representing various areas interested in improving child welfare in Pennsylvania.
Greenawalt is a senior account executive with The Glatfelter Agency and has been with the company since 1991. He currently volunteers in York, Lancaster and Adams County, with groups such as York County Children’s Advocacy Center, the York County Economic Alliance, Hanover Chamber of Commerce, Associated Builders & Contractors and the York Builders Association.
